Frequently Asked Questions

What is NumVault?

NumVault gives you temporary virtual phone numbers so you can receive SMS verification codes (OTPs) for platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, Instagram, and more — without using your personal phone number.

Is it really free?

Yes — during our beta period, every number (OTP or rental) is completely free. No card or wallet required. Pricing may be introduced later, with notice.

How do I get a number?

Sign up, go to your dashboard, choose a platform (e.g. WhatsApp), pick a country, and your number is generated instantly. You'll be taken straight to the inbox for that number.

How do I see the verification code?

Open the Inbox for your number. It checks for new messages automatically every few seconds — no need to refresh. When a code arrives you'll get a notification and can copy it with one tap.

What if the code doesn't arrive?

Use the "Resend code" button in the inbox. For supported providers this asks the platform to send the code again; otherwise it re-checks the line for the original message.

What is "Release" for?

Releasing a number marks it as done/used and removes it from your active numbers list, keeping your dashboard tidy. You can request a new number any time.

What's the difference between OTP (20 min) and Rental numbers?

OTP numbers are short-lived (20 minutes) — perfect for one-time signups. Rental numbers stay active for days/weeks/months and can receive unlimited SMS during that period — useful if a platform may re-verify you later.

Can I reuse the same number later?

Numbers are shared resources reassigned to other users after expiry, so don't rely on a NumVault number as a permanent contact. Rental numbers can be reactivated within 7 days of expiry.

Is my data safe?

We only store what's needed to operate your account and inbox. See our Privacy Policy for details.
